Volunteer Volunteer roles Bridal shop volunteer About the role Trinity’s Wimbledon shop is home to one of London’s most popular pre-loved bridal collections. We are looking for new volunteers to assist brides-to-be with fittings, as well as to help with processing and displaying donated gowns. We are looking for individuals who have an interest in bridal wear and ideally already have experience in a bridal shop or fashion boutique environment. How much time will I need to commit? The bridal boutique operates on an appointment basis. We are looking for volunteers who can give at least 2 hours a week on a flexible rota. The role is based at Royal Trinity Hospice, 16 The Broadway, London, SW19 1RF. Key responsibilities of the role Helping brides-to-be to try on and select their dream wedding dress Helping to process, organise and display donated gowns Helping to select and curate items for the bridal collection What the role can offer you The opportunity to find out more about sustainable and preloved fashion The opportunity to learn new skills and enhance your CV The opportunity to meet new people The opportunity to support Trinity’s work and make a difference in your local community What we expect from you An interest in and/or experience of working with bridal/boutique fashion To be aged 16 years of age or over To be trustworthy and reliable – the role may require you to handle cash and donated goods To be a team player – the role will require you to work with other members of the team To have good communication and interpersonal skills – the role will require you to interact with members of the public To maintain a high standard of presentation and personal hygiene To have respect for Trinity’s policies To be respectful of others regardless of their background – the role will require you to be committed to fairness, respect, equality, diversity, inclusion and engagement as outlined in Trinity’s FREDIE policy To abide by Trinity’s retail safeguarding policy at all times – this role will require you to share Trinity’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare of all its staff and volunteers Should you be successful at interview, we will then take up two references and expect you to complete some on-the-job training. If you have applied for a volunteer role within the hospice, you may be required to complete a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check; this check will be carried out free of charge by Trinity. We do not want you to be out of pocket through volunteering. We will reimburse reasonable travel and lunch expenses where relevant.
