We’re thrilled to have an incredible team of 22 dedicated runners supporting Royal Trinity Hospice in the 2025 TCS London Marathon!

Their fundraising efforts help us to continue providing our care to people who need it. We couldn’t be more grateful for their support.

The level of care and attention Laz received was unmatched. Despite the challenging circumstances, he was comfortable and content, thanks to the dedication efforts at Trinity.

Despite Laz’s illness, he kept himself busy with a number of activities and events, such as going on holiday and watching his son get married. One of my last and most memorable moments with Laz was at the London Marathon, where he quite literally ran around London to catch his son Dom run at as many points as possible. When it was time to get further support from Trinity, they not only made my uncle more comfortable, they provided support to our entire family during a profoundly difficult time. Trinity’s staff made a lasting impression and we will always be grateful, and that is why I have decided to run the marathon.

I am 19 years old, and this year I cannot be more excited to run the marathon for Royal Trinity Hospice. My family have always held a long connection with Trinity given it is a local charity for us. I have previously raised money for Trinity through much smaller running challenges over COVID, and when I learnt they had places for the marathon I could not be more excited to join the team! I am running for everyone who does an unbelievable job at Trinity, day in and day out, and I wanted to give a little bit back to aid their amazing work. I will also be undertaking this challenge with my amazing Mum, who is pushing 60 this year, which makes the challenge all more exciting. I cannot wait to run the London Marathon for Trinity, and it makes the challenge seem so much easier knowing I am doing it for an amazing cause.

In 2021, my Grandad passed away at Trinity and the support he received was unquestionable. I believe that the care put him at ease and ultimately prolonged his life. The bond and relationship I had with my Grandad was so unbelievably special, he will always be my motivation to improve in life. His never-giving-up mentality and attitude towards life has inspired me in many ways. I will carry this with me when I take on the London Marathon raising money for Trinity.

I am a South Londoner and (very) amateur runner now living in Miami. I have not run a marathon in ten years, so I am training hard! I am so very proud to run for Trinity. I know it to be a sanctuary, a place of calm, incredibly qualified support and therapies - not just for patients but their families. When I was a teenager, my uncle Richie was cared for at Trinity when he passed away from cancer, at the age of 36. This run will be in his memory and we will be continuing a family tradition - his brother, my uncle Jon, also ran for Team Trinity. Now it’s my turn, taking this epic route! Thanks for cheering me along!

Danny

Towards the end of 2023, I lost my best friend Jon to an aggressive cancer. Jon was an exceptional friend to me, someone I respected wholeheartedly, the cleverest person I knew and someone I miss dearly. He is the godfather to my eldest daughter and I am likewise for his eldest son Joseph; his impact on my life is immeasurable. He received care at Royal Trinity Hospice. I visited Jon often and was amazed and touched at the level of care and compassion from the staff. I learnt the vast cost it takes to run the hospice and the funds the hospice needs to raise in order to receive all the grants from the NHS. I am running in memory of Jon and to raise the all important funds for the hospice.

Good luck to all our runners, we can't wait to cheer you all on!
