Royal Trinity Hospice has announced a brand new neighbourhood café at the hospice’s base on Clapham Common.

Inside the historic hospice’s Georgian building on the north side of Clapham Common, Common Cause is serving up artisan coffee, fresh pastries and a range of delicious homemade bakes, salads, sandwiches and snacks to enjoy in or take away.

Like the charity’s shops across central and south west London, all profits from Common Cause will go directly to funding the hospice’s free care.

The hospice’s award-winning work on sustainability has also extended to the new café, which features furnishings and suppliers that support local business, champion ethical producers, and reduce its carbon footprint. This includes serving responsibly sourced, delicious coffee from B-Corp Ozone Coffee, and furnishings made from recycled materials from social business Raw Workshop. Even the new counter-top is made from recycled fridges.

Emily Carter, Chief Executive at Royal Trinity Hospice said:

“We can’t wait to welcome people to Common Cause for delicious coffee, cakes, bakes and lunches. Whether it’s a takeaway coffee and croissant to enjoy on your dog walk across the Common, or a catch-up over a slice of our famous flapjack after the school run, we want to be the local spot to bring people together.

“Every time you choose Common Cause, not only will you get to enjoy incredible food and drink, you will also have the satisfaction of knowing you are supporting your local hospice.

“Every sip, every snack, every visit has an impact, because every penny supports us to provide free care for Londoners at the end of their lives.”
