In Memory Helen Cutter Noyes Maclennan 02 Apr 1935 - 22 Feb 2026 Helen Maclennan, born in Cambridge Massachusetts, studied at Radcliffe College Harvard University, and Oxford University. She taught history at Brearley School in New York, the Winsor School Boston, the American School in London, and Queens College, London. She was married to Paul Noyes (widowed in 1966), and then to Robert Maclennan (later Lord Maclennan of Rogart), MP for Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross from 1966 to 2001. She had three children, Nicholas (by Paul), Ruth and Adam, and three grandchildren, Connie, Hector and Sasha, and beloved daughters-in-law and son-in-law. Helen was a marvellous cook, a skilled and dedicated political campaigner, and is missed terribly by all her extensive family on both sides of the Atlantic, and friends both near and far. Helen did a lot of voluntary work for various causes, and also ran Harvard University's alumni interview programme in the UK for many years. Helen was cared for so kindly and expertly, in such peaceful surroundings, at Royal Trinity Hospice, that we want to help support the Hospice in memory of our mother.
