Over my time as a Trustee, I have seen first-hand the extraordinary difference Trinity makes to people facing some of life's most difficult moments.

It has been a privilege to support an organisation that provides extraordinary care to patients and families. I was particularly struck by the work of our Community Nurses, who help people receive expert care, comfort and dignity in their own homes.

As I leave my formal role with the hospice, I wanted to make one final contribution. Rather than marking my departure with gifts or recognition, I am asking friends, colleagues and business connections to help fund one or more Trinity Community Nurses for a year.

Almost 90% of Trinity's care is delivered in people's own homes. Home is where most people want to be. It is where they feel safe, connected, and surrounded by the people and places that matter most. For many, it is also where they wish to spend their final days.

Making this possible are Trinity's Community Nurses. They walk through the front door, sit at the bedside, listen, reassure, manage symptoms, support families, and bring calm to moments that can feel overwhelming. Their work is expert, compassionate, and absolutely essential.

Thank you for considering supporting this cause which means so much to me.

Support our Community care

This final fundraising appeal feels like the most fitting way to honour what I’ve witnessed: the power of being cared for at home, and the difference it makes to patients and families.

It costs around £50,000 to fund a nurse in our community for a year. Will you support their care?

£100 could fund a Community Nurse for a day

£1,000 could help fund a Community Nurse for a week

£4,100 could fund a Community Nurse for a month

£12,500 could support a Community Nurse at Trinity for an entire season

Help fund a Community nurse for an entire year

Why your support matters now

Trinity provides all of its care free of charge. While they receive some NHS funding, it does not cover the full cost of hospice care.

As demand for their services continues, funding gaps put pressure on the very thing that matters most: the ability to provide care properly, without rushing, for the increasing number of people who need us.
